We strive to offer high quality, sustainable products that minimize their impact on the planet. We feel that environmental education is key for consumers to make the right purchasing decisions. Our fashionable and functional environmentally responsible products attempt to meet as many of following criteria as possible:

Besides just selling environmentally products, Eco Home Gear, LLC tries to reduce its footprint on the Earth in its daily processes. Here is a brief list:

- Our long distance phone service is operated by who gives 100% of their profits to grassroots environmental organizations.

FOUNDER BACKGROUND
Starting as a simple search for home energy saving ideas, Rich Altherr was sucked
into the "internet black hole" of environmental information.
The more he learned, the more he started making significant lifestyle changes
to reduce his impact on the Earth. He is constantly looking for ways to make
his home more energy and resource efficient and is a strong proponent of renewable
energy such as solar, wind, and Biodiesel. He tries to consume lightly, but when he does
consume he purchases organic, eco-friendly goods manufactured by socially responsible companies as local as possible.
In Rich's search for products, he wanted items that were both fashionable and functional.
He realized a need to have trendy environmental products on one e-commerce site, which performed equal to
or better then the equivalent mainstream product. With a strong desire to fuel his environmental passion and the
opportunities for an improved eco-retail store design, Rich founded Eco Home Gear, LLC in September 2006.
